Intension began life in 1972 as Cardiff Canvas & Rope manufacturing sewn products such as tarpaulins, covers, slings and webbing straps but by 2001 it had seen its traditional work withering away along with the demise of  many Welsh industries.  Since then, the company has changed out of all recognition into a thriving modern business able to compete on all levels - from small scale bespoke commissions to vast international projects.

Today the company employs 10 people, the majority of whom have been with the company for many years and who provide a knowledgeable and flexible skills base.  Unusually in this industry, Intension still retains a sewing capacity but it can now offer the most modern fabric welding processes that are necessary for today's technical textiles.

Intension has won a number of prestigious national and international awards for its work and continues to strive towards an increasing level of excellence.
