Decorative: Charlotte Sharman

A highly innovative use of fabric where a soft amorphic surface was needed rather than the traditional tensile or uniform shape normally applied to internal fabric ceilings. The material was chosen for its Class O fire rating, appearance and its ability to absorb the soft shapes of the design with few creases.

Many problems in design and manufacture needed to be resolved, particularly in patterning and the placement of cut-outs.
