Staging: Colonel Gaddafi's 40th Anniversary Stage

3 standard space roof structures were combined to form the main part of this 120m wide x 25m high staging structure and to provide a structure to support the cinema screen and bedouin-style frontage canopy, both of which were manufactured by Intension. It was necessary to meet tight production deadlines and also to source the exact colour of fabric to match the design brief. The structure had to be designed to form the desired shape without wrinkling whilst allowing the fabric to be controlled under wind turbulence. This was achieved by clever engineering and the use of air-vents, together with bungees and aircraft grade elastic rope during installation.
